At Temple Maenad, we gather where the veil between worlds grows thin. Ours is a living circle, a community of witches who come together to honour the ancient rhythm of the Wheel of the Year, meeting at each of the eight sacred Sabbats as the seasons turn and transform.

Every six weeks, within the grand hall of the Lithuanian Club, the ordinary dissolves into something otherworldly. Candlelight flickers against shadowed walls, incense curls through the air and the space awakens... becoming a sanctuary between realms. Here, we step out of the mundane and into the mysterious.

Our name is drawn from the Maenads, the ecstatic devotees of Dionysus. Those wild, untamed spirits who danced at the edge of the divine. Like them, we gather in reverence and in revelry, embracing both stillness and abandon, honouring the sacred through ritual, connection and embodied presence.

Each Sabbat is its own spell: a weaving of intention, seasonal magic and shared energy. We mark the cycles of growth and decay, light and shadow, descent and renewal, not only in the world around us, but within ourselves. Through ritual, storytelling and communion, we attune to the pulse of the earth and the deeper currents that guide us.

Temple Maenad is more than a gathering... it is an experience of belonging, transformation and enchantment. A place where the mystical is called, the senses are awakened and the spirit is free to wander.

When

Our gatherings unfold on the Saturday prior to each Sabbat, moving in quiet harmony with the turning of the year. Each date is shaped by nature’s shifting timelines by honouring what is unfolding both around us in the world and within.

We ask that you arrive ten minutes early, allowing yourself a gentle transition from the outer world into the sacred container we create. Each gathering spans two hours, held as a quiet ritual and celebration.

NEXT SABBAT: Yule / Winter Solstice

The rebirth of light, a quiet place of dreams, renewal and the deep stillness of winter’s heart.

At the edge of winter, we arrive at Yule, the deepest hush of the year, where darkness stretches long and the world turns inward. This is the sacred pause, the liminal space between what has been and what is yet to rise. Beneath the quiet, something stirs.

Yule is the dreamtime of the Wheel. Where stillness becomes fertile ground. Where the smallest spark of light is reborn in the unseen.

At Temple Maenad, we gather in candlelit ritual to honour this threshold. Together, we will descend gently into the dark, into rest, into reflection, into the soft unraveling of the outer world. Through guided ritual, we will awaken the dreaming self, tending the quiet visions that live beneath waking life. This is a space to listen deeply, to receive, and to remember.

In the longest night, we remember: the light is already on its way.
