Winter Solstice is our seasonal tradition that brings thousands together to mark the turning point of winter: a time to reflect, reconnect, and celebrate the light’s return. This year we will be holding not one, but two solstice celebrations – a family-friendly Friday night and an adult-only celebration. Both will culminate in a spectacular fire sculpture finale. At the edge of winter, we arrive at Yule, the deepest hush of the year, where darkness stretches long and the world turns inward. This is the sacred pause, the liminal space between what has been and what is yet to rise. Yule is the dreamtime, the moment where rest is not absence, but medicine. Where stillness becomes fertile ground. Where the smallest spark of light is reborn in the unseen. At Temple Maenad, we gather in an evening candlelit ritual to honour this threshold.
