THEME: Descent - Waning Light, Sacred Preparation & the Journey of Inanna
As the light begins to wane and autumn quietly settles in, April’s Witches’ Circle turns toward 'Descent'. This is the season when the world softens inward: leaves begin their slow fall, the air cools, and the veil between realms grows a little thinner. Together, we’ll honour this shift by exploring the wisdom of descent, not as loss, but as sacred preparation for the deeper realms of self and spirit.
We’ll reflect on what it means to consciously move toward the dark: to release what cannot follow us further, to strengthen our protections and to prepare our spirits for the inner journeys that the colder months invite. This is the work of grounding, warding and tending the unseen boundaries that hold us as we move through more shadowed landscapes.
Our guiding myth this month is Inanna, the ancient goddess who descended through the seven gates of the underworld, surrendering her adornments and identities one by one. Through her story, we’ll explore themes of surrender, protection, transformation and the power that emerges when we meet the underworld with intention.
The circle will culminate in a ritual of protection and preparation for the darker half of the year: a collective working to strengthen spiritual boundaries, call in guidance and ready ourselves for the depths ahead. This gathering is an invitation to step deliberately into the waning light, trusting that descent is not an ending, but the beginning of profound transformation 🖤🍂✨
